Q:        What is the T.E.M.P. System?

A:        The T.E.M.P. (Transitional Employee Medical Program) System is a proactive approach for returning injured workers back to work. It meets or exceeds all insurance standards, both public and private, when providing a return-to-work program for their employees significantly reducing their workers  compensation costs while maintaining or improving productivity.

Q:        How does the T.E.M.P. System save money?

A:        You will be able to return your injured employees to productive work almost immediately. This avoids the costly delays and added expense of responding to these incidents from scratch each time, losing valuable days finding and getting approvals from all parties involved for return to duty.

Q:        How does the T.E.M.P. System pay for itself?

A:        Almost all insurance companies offer a discount for a true professional return-to-work program. That discount will normally pay for the program. For larger self-insured employers, we guarantee our program pays for itself in the first year or we will refund our fee. You have nothing to lose.
        * New York State employers that meet certain elements get premium reduction when establishing a RTW program that meets Department of Labor regulations. SCS T.E.M.P system meets or exceeds these regulations.

Q:        What is unique about the T.E.M.P. System?

A:        First, the T.E.M.P. System is a web-based proactive RTW program that gives all parties involved in the descision making a platform for communication from first day of injury right through to full duty. Second, our program is designed around your needs with input from employees, supervisors and management. Finally, the system provides meaningful and productive work as the employee moves from one position to another in a timely manner always approved by the physician.

Q:        What if we don't have any "light-duty  work at our locations?

A:        First off,  "light duty  is an old term that has sent the wrong message for years in regards to an injured worker's position and is demeaning. Transitional work means you are moving from one position to another in a formalized program that involves senior management support, supervisor involvement and employee approval for meaningful and productive positions that were predetermined before an injury occurs. Second, by looking at employees work from a fresh perspective, there are ample positions needing to be done which would be medically appropriate for an injured employee. We work with your employees to identify tasks that are part of their existing positions and tasks that are not currently being done, but would become beneficial. The employees become part of the solution…not seen as part of the problem when an injury occurs.
